Who we are

earthsave was established in 1998 and focussed on ‘roof top’ solutions such as environmentally-friendly evaporative cooling air-conditioning, Edwards stainless steel solar hot water systems and Quantum heat pumps (which in those early days had solar panels on the roof).

Fergus Tweedy took over the ownership of earthsave in February 2006 as he knew it was the perfect company to expand and embrace the bountiful sun we are blessed with in Brisbane.  Having just returned from living in the UK for 5 years under cloudy skies, he noticed immediately how bright everything was in Australia. The sky was bluer, the birds more colourful – it hurt your eyes if you went outdoors without sunglasses. Fergus had a vision to harness our natural resources, with the added bonus of reducing climate change and pollution, so when he saw earthsave, he jumped at the opportunity to take over the helm and make a difference.

Under Fergus’s leadership:

     solar photovoltaics were introduced to the range of products in 2007

 2,500 solar water heaters deployed across Brisbane

 40,700 mega watts of electricity generation capacity added to Brisbane roof tops

     200 Brisbane homes insulated

    USA made solar venting system introduced in 2011

Meet the Core Team

Fergus Tweedy, Owner and Director (BASc)

Before owning earthsave, Fergus worked in the marine fisheries environment for several years, then had a career in IT support in various private corporations and public entities. earthsave combines his interest in the planet and interpersonal skills. Fergus is responsible for the sales and installation teams, and has a great deal of client interaction as he loves meeting people.

Andrea Tweedy, Owner (BBus)

Jackie has worked at earthsave almost from the beginning.  With a wealth of experience, she is often your first point of contact. Experienced in all types of renewable products and the running of the office, she has a loyal following of clients from over the years.

Dylan Jones, Solar Consultant (BSc)

Having studied and worked in microbiology, Dylan realised he preferred to be out of the lab. Retaining his innate interest in science, Dylan has co-ordinated scaffolding for the building industry, and with an interest in renewables he progressed into co-ordinating solar installations prior to joining earthsave.  At earthsave he continues co-ordinating the solar installations, and is responsible for contacting all the likeminded clients who are also interested in renewables.  When he’s not juggling clients and installations, he’s off juggling fire.  In his spare time Dylan can be hired to entertain (for a small fee!).  See his website Spun Entertainment.
